Design leadership in a large organization.
As a Lead UX Designer in a sprawling team, my day-to-day activities vary broadly. At a high-level, I like to say that I’m the one who makes sure we’re solving problems with our users’ needs in mind.
More specifically, I…
- Collaborate across teams, facilitating the right connections and discussions.
- Lead meetings, demos, and design-thinking exercises.
- Deep-dive into research to help teams understand problem spaces.
- Explore and pitch ideas for the product roadmap.
- Educate team members how to leverage new tools and processes.
- Mentor and coach other designers (and sometimes engineers).
- Demonstrate and quantify the value of “good UX” to leadership.
- Get my hands dirty with creating user flows, service maps, wireframes, mockups, and other deliverables.
