Senior UX Designer

Prosight Specialty Insurance

Prosight Specialty Insurance (now known as Coaction) is a property and casualty insurance company that sells to commercial clients through partner brokerages and agencies. They cover businesses by industry vertical: ranging from globally-known celebrities and media productions to solar installations and marine contractors.

I joined Prosight in 2018 as Designer #3 to pioneer the UX practice and innovate from within a more traditional industry.

Staying consistent during change.

Though originally hired to design the experience for the company’s experimental arm Prosight Direct, a change in leadership direction shifted my role toward supporting core businesses. This meant my role had significantly changed from designing direct-to-consumer experiences to redesigning internal and business-to-business tools.

However, during the changes, I remained adaptable by sticking to core UX values and processes. My day-to-day activities included…

  • Conducting continuous user research to understand needs, identifying areas of opportunity, testing and validating hypotheses; elevating findings to leadership to advocate for users.
  • Creating rapid prototypes and production-ready mockups for rapid implementation.
  • Designing and documenting a new design system while actively building multiple products.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that proposed solutions balanced user needs with business goals and technical feasibility.
